About the Savanna School District

What a special place Savanna School District is!  Encompassing parts of the cities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress and Stanton, Savanna School District is an elementary school district with approximately 1800 students. These students attend one of our four schools: Cerritos, Hansen, Holder and Twila Reid Schools. We will open our doors to serve two, three, and four year old preschoolers as we launch District-run preschools on our campuses in the 2023-24 school year. Savanna is situated in Orange County, California, some 28 miles south of Los Angeles.  The district’s attendance area includes portions of Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, and Stanton.

Our size is one reason that Savanna has a family-like atmosphere among the faculty, support staff, students, parents and the community we serve. While our small size enables us to maintain this small town feel, our location provides students and staff access to a wide variety of resources within the community.

Savanna is a school district with a striking cultural and economic diversity; Savanna’s families speak over 28 different languages.  Approximately 40% of our students are limited English proficient with approximately 70% of our families having a language other than English spoken at home.  District-wide, our unduplicated pupil percentage is nearly 83%.

It is the mission of the Savanna School District to provide an exceptional educational program, building academic, physical, social and emotional growth in an environment that will be stimulating for learning in cooperation with parents and the community; develop all students to their individual capacity to prepare them for future learning experiences.
