Kindergarten Enrollment for 2017-18

Registration

If your student attended Transitional Kindergarten in the 2016-2017 school year at one of our schools, please do not complete these steps. Your child is considered a returning student and will be registered for the new school year during the summer through the Parent Portal.

Enrollment for any student who will be new to the Savanna School District will need to be completed online. Please visit the school boundaries link on this website to determine your child's school of residence (home school) prior to beginning the steps below.

Additional Registration Requirements

Physical Exam Requirement for First Grade Students
All children need a health check-up during kindergarten, before enrollment in 1st grade. Parents are encouraged to have the school physical exam done and the paperwork turned in to the school office as soon as possible. The physical exam may be free to those who qualify through the CHDP (Child Health and Disability Prevention) program. For information call 1-800-564-8448. Parents or guardians who do not wish to obtain a physical examination for their child must come to the school office to sign a waiver.

Dental Exam Requirement for Kindergarten Students
California law (Education Code Section 49452.8) requires that students entering the first year of public school have a dental check-up. Any dental examination completed up to 12 months before the start of kindergarten will also meet this requirement. The Oral Health Assessment form should be turned into the school as soon as possible.
